Introduction of Acts
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Can you picture this happening? There is a principle here:
- You cannot give what you do not have.
- Chapter 2 shows us the difference of the disciples with the spirit and without the spirit
Pastor Chuck challenged us last week: 1 Chronicles 29:14-20 to be:
A people of generosity. (14-16).
A people of integrity. (17).
A people of loyalty. (18).
A people committed to the vision. (19)
A people who worship. (20)
The early church had a driving force behind them which was the Holy Spirit and it caused things to happen. It empowered them to carry out the service of the Call.
- The Holy Spirit enabled them to Change Their Thinking!
- The early church was empowered by Prayer, the Word and the Holy Spirit.
If we are to be a people who embrace Jesus,
we will begin to live for the kingdom and not for ourselves!
