                                                    Building and Sustaining Your Confidence
                                                            “By Living out Forgiveness”

Jesus is a master teacher who taught lessons in a variety of ways. Often He taught people in large multitudes. However, Jesus also had many one-on-one encounters with people who are just like us in many respects.

John 4: 1-26 “The Woman at the Well” teach us three incredible truths about Jesus!
What do we learn about Jesus?

WE LEARN A LESSON ABOUT JESUS’ PERSONALITY.

                                                             Look again at verses 4-9…
One thing we notice is that Jesus got thirsty just like we all get thirsty.

                                                                Look at verse 16-18…
This woman was an outcast. She was probably shunned by other women and the people of her community.

                                                                Look at verse 4…
Jesus had to go through Samaria! Why? There was a woman at a well who needed to know right then that someone cares for her.

WE LEARN A LESSON ABOUT JESUS’ PRIORITIES.
Jesus’ priorities are 2 fold here in this passage:
  1.  HIS PRIORITY WAS MINISTRY FOR A PERSON.
    Look at vs. 9…
            Jesus followed the Spirits leading.

     2.  HIS PRIORITY WAS TO MAKE A TRUTHFUL PROCLAMATION.
          Look at verses 16-19 again…
Before Jesus could work in her life, she had to admit and deal with her sin.

WE LEARN A LESSON ABOUT JESUS’ POWER.

JESUS CAN BRING CALM TO YOUR LIFE.
  • Jesus says you have a choice in your life… look at verses 13-14…

1. THIS WATER
Why would you choose “this water” any longer?

2. THE WATER
Jesus is “the living water” for your life.

  • JESUS CAN BRING CHANGE TO YOUR LIFE.
Look at verses 39-43….Notice…this woman who was introverted, hiding from the world in guilt and shame…

                                                    She is now a soul-winner!
She is out telling her testimony to all who will listen.
                                                           What a change!

                                                Our Response:  Matthew 9:35-10:20
Pray for the Harvest & Realize it is US!

Jesus sent his twelve harvest hands out with this charge:
…Go to the lost, confused people right here in the neighborhood. Tell them that the kingdom is here… And don’t worry about what you’ll say or how you’ll say it. The right words will be there; the Spirit of your Father will supply the words.

Repeat after me:  I AM A Lay - Minister!

    David Craig, Pastor

I began my journey as the Lead Pastor in June 2011.  Prior to coming to Shreveport I served in Texas, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.  I studied religion and music at Southern Nazarene University and received my M.A. degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary.

I was raised in a Christian home where I was exposed to the Lord at an early age.  As a junior in high school I felt a call to serve Jesus for a lifetime in the ministry.

I and my wife, Dawn, have two sons. Caleb is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University and Adam attends ULM in Monroe, La

In my spare time I enjoy sports of all kinds, but especially the Texas Longhorns.
