Haggai: Zechariah: Malachi: Joel:
Jonah:
Look at the difference of Jonah in chapter 3
- He obeys God!
“Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim the message I give you. Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh” 3:1-3
- He is a changed man!
- He is a challenged man!
“Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, proclaiming, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.” Jonah 3:4
Testimony:
“The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth”. Jonah 3:5
“But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. 9 Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.” Jonah 3”8-9
What we Learn from Jonah…
- God can use even those who have fallen short for His glory!
- We learn that revival is delayed by the disobedience of God’s people.
- We learn that revival comes unexpectedly and suddenly, when the called finally obeys God.
- We learn that salvation comes by faith, through repentance, as well as in individual conversions.
Obedience turns that we think Impossible into Miracles!
When we Obey God, He gets a chance to Show up through Us!
Look at the mercy of God!
“When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened”. Jonah 3:10
