“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free...And if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:32,36)
“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be full.” (John 15:11)
The Main Message of Galatians
Don’t let anybody steal your freedom!
Three Traps That Cause Us to Lose Our Joy
- Beware Of Becoming A Perfectionist! (Galatians 3)
Perfectionism destroys your peace;
Your relationship with God is based on fear instead of love.
Solution: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9)
- Beware Of Becoming A Legalist! (Galatians 4)
Legalists love to make lists of do’s and don’ts.
To Jesus, people are more important than policies!
Solution: “The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." (Gal 5:14)
- Beware Of Becoming A Conformist! (Galatians 5)
“What do other people think? How do I look?”
“You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. "A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough."
“Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else.” (Galatians 6:4)
