Engage in Deuteronomy "the Conclusion"
Deuteronomy 26:1-11.

God’s mercies should be REMEMBERED
  • NATIONAL mercies

  • CHURCH mercies

  • PERSONAL mercies

God’s mercies should be ACKNOWLEDGED

  • By RECITAL before God

  • By free-will OFFERINGS

  • By HOSPITALITY and CHARITY

“Our citizenship is in heaven” (Phil. 3:20).

APPLYING THE WORD…

More than anything, God wants our hearts.

He wants us to be in love with him.
Are you in love with him today?

SUBMISSION MEANS DEVELOPMENT
Deuteronomy 1:19-36

DISOBEDIENCE BROUGHT INTERRUPTION…

Jesus said, ’Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you’ (Matthew 6:33, KJV).

  • Roaming from or delighting in God’s presence.

Hebrews 4:1, "Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith.”

DISOBEDIENCE ALWAYS RESULTS IN IMPATIENT,
TIME-CONSUMING ACTIVITY WITH NO PROGRESS.

  • What we do today affects those who will follow in years to come.

OBEDIENCE RESULTS IN A RIGHT DIRECTION TOWARD FULFILLMENT.
IT CAN BE DONE

"Never be lacking in enthusiasm, but keep your spiritual intensity, serving the
Lord. (Romans 12:11).

One of the age-old killers of enthusiasm is: "It can’t be done."
But if the idea is creative and comes from God, it can be done!
It may not be easy, but it can be done."

Let us go out and do what God wants us to do.

The Beginnings: Reading together as a community through the first 5 books of the OT
Engage: Numbers – part 1

Numbers 7:1-17.
The Israelite's were giving out of a genuine and heartfelt love for their God!
The bible is telling us 2 things...
  • what the people gave to the Lord,
  • the attitude that they gave it with!
TWO Principles of Giving that God’s People Modeled for us to Follow...
  1. Give towards the ETERNAL needs of the world.

Heb. 13:14 tells us that we are "strangers and aliens in this world"
.
  1. Give towards the MINISTRY needs of the church.

22 The LORD said to Moses, 23 "Tell Aaron and his sons, 'This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: 24 "The LORD bless you and keep you; 25 the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."'  27 "So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them." Numbers 6:22-27

God's grace gets a hold of our hearts and makes us cheerful givers...                    of our time, our talents and our treasure.

So how do you give? cheerfully? sparingly? or grumbly?
God loves a cheerful giver, because a cheerful giver loves God!

    David Craig, Pastor

I began my journey as the Lead Pastor in June 2011.  Prior to coming to Shreveport I served in Texas, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.  I studied religion and music at Southern Nazarene University and received my M.A. degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary.

I was raised in a Christian home where I was exposed to the Lord at an early age.  As a junior in high school I felt a call to serve Jesus for a lifetime in the ministry.

I and my wife, Dawn, have two sons. Caleb is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University and Adam attends ULM in Monroe, La

In my spare time I enjoy sports of all kinds, but especially the Texas Longhorns.
