Journey of Hope: “When I don’t feel like getting out of Bed”
Acts 1:1-11

As Co-partners with Jesus, we must do our part!

  • They first had to obey and listen to Jesus.

That obedience meant for however long it took
they had to stay in Jerusalem and WAIT.

  • Pentecost came through individual and corporate prayer.

  • Prayer opens the door to the 2nd Promise of Pentecost - The Promise of Power.

The Promise of The Infilling Power of the Holy Spirit!

  • Jesus died because we needed to be born again from above!

The Journey of Hope begins when I get out of the bed and…

  • Obey and listen to Jesus.

  • Pray through until the Holy Spirit anoints us.

  • Go out empowered by the Holy Spirit and share your story.

Journey of Hope – “The Need for Mentorship” – John 14:15-21

The LORD wants to TREAT our Love and Obedience with the Infilling Presence of His Holy Spirit - v. 16-18.

  • Shallow love produces shallow results. Partial obedience leads to being spiritually barren.

Remember Jesus' Parable of the Four Soils? – Matthew 13:1-23

We see that the LORD wants to TREAT our Love and Obedience with "Jesus moments" - verses - 18 – 21.

  • Do we have room for God to come into our home - our hearts and lives? Do we make a place for the LORD today?

You see, it is one thing to say that we love the LORD and want to obey the LORD and it is another to love the LORD and obey the LORD.

The journey of hope leads us to a life of mentorship With Jesus and to Others!

Happy Mother's Day!

The Journey of Hope: “The Need of a Mothers Love”
2 Peter 2:1-9

‘…if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials…’

Seeking, finding, and trusting God as our truth-teller
is nothing less than a step of blind faith in a world of landmines.

The main part of scripture is the journey back to the Garden where we were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26) and had union with God.                    Sin marred that image.
  • Jesus is our invitation, our roadmap, and our journey.

John tells us that we become by grace what God is by nature (John 1:12).

  • God rescued Noah (Genesis 6:5 - 8:19).

  • God rescued Lot (Genesis 19:1-29).

  • God is rescuing you. (2 Peter 2:9)

The testimony of scripture is not about a rescue out of but rather a journey towards or a journey into Christ.

Thank You Mothers for teaches us this in LOVE!

A journey of Hope, “Overcoming Temptation”
John 10:1-10
THREE MAJOR LIES OF THE ENEMY
The first lie: I can give you what you want…Luke 4:1-14
  • He suggests making the stone into bread.

  • He offered the riches and glory of the world.

  • He offered false truth.

Psalm 91:11-12 "For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone"
The second lie:  I can give you physical satisfaction…2 Samuel 11:1-5

The third lie:  I can give you a pleasurable life …Genesis 3:1-7

Jesus died on the cross to give us…
Liberty & Freedom to overcome temptation.

    David Craig, Pastor

I began my journey as the Lead Pastor in June 2011.  Prior to coming to Shreveport I served in Texas, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.  I studied religion and music at Southern Nazarene University and received my M.A. degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary.

I was raised in a Christian home where I was exposed to the Lord at an early age.  As a junior in high school I felt a call to serve Jesus for a lifetime in the ministry.

I and my wife, Dawn, have two sons. Caleb is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University and Adam attends ULM in Monroe, La

In my spare time I enjoy sports of all kinds, but especially the Texas Longhorns.
